My name is Imani. I was originally an illustrator with a dream of becoming an art therapist for people experiencing mental problems. One day I was drawing my heart out into a black ballerina, when I made a realization. She wasn't a creature I created. She was living her own life separate from me.

That semester in college, I took on a pottery class just for fun.
My first time at the potter's wheel, I felt alive. The art was breathing with me. Feeling me in the same way I was feeling the slick earth maneuvering in my fingers. A new life that wasn't just watching me, but came into fruition.
With pottery, I came to life with a series of cups and bowls.
I'm a consciousness driving an identity born from stardust using other dust particles to create a life.
